    The Economy

As we all are trying to make it through life, the economy is slipping away. Food is beyond its worth. Gas is unaffordable. Taxes are never ending. And our goverment is corrupt.

A week and half ago I was fired from my job and will be collecting unempoyment at $395.00 a week provided they don't side with my ex-employer then I will get nothing.

With gas at $3.25 gal. (car takes 15 gallons to fill), Heating oil at $3.79 gal.( 250 gallon tank), Groceries average about $150.00 a week, Electric at $200.00 a month, how far will this go. Being a divorced father, I am also required to pay child support with no tax credit and health insurance at a rate of $1500.00 a month.

So I ask all the canidates for public office, What are you doing for me? I still have to pay my back taxes of $50,000 as well as my current ones. I made $40,000 last year and gave IRS $2500 of that and still owed. What has you given me for all the money I pay in the past.
I am a disabled Veteran and get a whopping $230.00 a month for a broken back and 8 years of service. And when I ask for help to get a simple pair dentures so I can chew my food, I am told I don't qualify. When ask the Judge to reduce my support, he tells me, "just get another job and if that isn't enough, get 2 more.

I am fortunate in some ways. My girlfriend's father owns her house and is willing to help out for a while. I know he will always take care of his daughter but what about the Bum of a boyfriend?

Yes, we all have our problems and we think we have it worse until we hear the next sad song.

If our officials did what they were required to do for us, We would have jobs, free insurance, and an economy that we could afford. Isn't time for you guys to start what you promised us you would do when you asked us to elect you into office?

Amen!  It's time things changed.  I am very sorry to hear about your current situation.  I hope that things start looking up soon--it is a shame that the country you served has not served you in return.

Good luck.... if you have money the government is going to help you much, they seem to want to have to take care of someone. If you were told to get a second job, why can't we ask that of those on the welfare system? I'm somewhat tired of people using the welfare system as a 'life style' instead of what it was created for.... help out of a bad situation. It should be an interesting year!!
